Within the digital age, QR codes blur the boundaries between the physical and technological world. My Body of Work uses these codes as symbols to explore the issues that millennials face due to the increased presence of technology. By exploring diverse mediums of photography, painting and drawings, the work expounds on the continual obsession with mobile phone use, the rise of cyberbully and the addiction to gaming that is prevalent in the younger generations within society today. My work exploits the relational, emotional and physical impacts that technology has and challenges the audience to reconsider the way they use it in their daily life. Through conducting a social experiment where strangers were invited to scan these codes; the message that the QR codes unveil creates meaningful interactions between the audience and the artwork.
